Achieving their personal best

Nursery Manager, Mrs Rachael Waite

I began my journey in early years education by achieving my NNEB diploma in 1992 in North Wales. My first role as an Early Years Practitioner (EYP) was in a private day nursery in Rhyl. In 1993, I moved to Worthing to work in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) setting before embarking on an exciting adventure as a nanny in North Carolina, USA.

In the winter of 1995, I discovered my love for snow and skiing, leading me to spend seven winters in the Alps. During this time, I progressed to Childcare Manager for a small luxury chalet tour operator by November 2001. In late 2002, I settled in New Malden, where I have enjoyed raising my two children, who attended local primary and high schools. My son is now at university, and my daughter is beginning her GCSE journey.

In 2014, I took on a part-time role at my children's school nursery, transitioning to a full-time EYP role in 2015. I joined The Study School Nursery in 2021 as Deputy Manager and became Nursery Manager in January 2022. I am hugely excited about the future of the nursery as we expand our offerings. With an excellent team behind me and the introduction of our new purpose-built facilities, I am confident that we will help each child achieve their personal best with us.
